Columbus Zoo Advertisement

Hi everyone, I got to help bring these beautiful sea lions to life for the Columbus zoo. I hope you all like it. My responsibilities on the project included building the rig setup, the tissue simulation and supporting the animation department with the rnd and case study on the sea lions. The biggest challenge in rigging was getting the sea lion to flow through seamlessly in three dimensional space while respecting the resistance that water currents naturally provides. Tissue simulation was then added on top of the animation to get the beautiful fat fold that naturally form in and out of the body as the sea lions animate.

The model was made by Lasse Hansen and the animation was done by Feanor Engemann.
